IMHOF World Time desk clock GMT 8 Day VERY CLEAN Running Well Vintage 1960s
This fabulous and highly attractive desk-table clock, was created in Switzerland by the clock makers house of Imhof, back in the 1960's. It is very difficult to find one of these in this condition. It was crafted with modernist patterns in mind.
A great looking desk clock! Dial : Round golden dial with blue and golden world map with view from the south pole and 24 time zones. Roman black numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for world-timer, golden hands, convex transparent crystal and inscribed Imhof Swiss. Movement : Manual winding, 8 days, 15 jewels, Lever escapement.
Measurements : Diameter of approximately 4 inches and a height of approximately 4.5 inches. IMHOF SA was founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1924 by Arthur Imhof.Known for the manufacture of elegant desk and table watches, the slogan Manufacture de Pendulettes d'Art et Réveils identifies it for the production of quality models, so much so that it is defined in the world of collecting as the Rolls Royce of watches. Some desk clocks designed by Cartier, Tiffany and Boucheron have Imhof 8 days movements. Condition : The overall condition of this clock is excellent.
When searching for comparable clocks, this is the cleanest one I could find. You be the judge and please examine all the photographs very carefully. I believe this clock originally had a piece of felt on the base, which is now missing. I'm enclosing 6 brown self adhesive felt pads that you can put on the bottom of the base if you want. These pads can be seen in one picture.Below is a link to a video of the movement running. After purchasing, no cleaning or polishing was done to the clock. I only removed some dust.
I only remove the back of the clock to take photographs that show the amazing condition of the movement. This is an 8 day clock, meaning you only have to wind it approximately once a week.
