16750 1987 Rolex GMT Master With Pepsi Bezel Extra Included
16750 1987 Rolex GMT Master. This is one of the rare thin and medium sized 40mm early GMT Masters with quick-set oyster bracelet. Yes there are scratches on the crystal. I had the crystal replaced by a Rolex dealer in NYC and I think its some type of plastic - not glass.
The plastic one installed is much higher and has taken all the scratching and saved the watch face. If you look at the Bezel which is original from 1987 it is unscathed so the crystal has done a good job of sacrificial scratch magnet. I bought the watch from Bernard watch in Texas and I got an extra "pepsi" bezel in a Rolex envelope. I assume its a Rolex part and it is compatible with the watch - but I haven't ever had it installed. The watch has not been polished while I've owned it and doesn't look like it ever has been polished.
There are scratched on the band and crystal from use. Like replacing the crystal, a new band would avoid all the concerns about scratching.
